Designed to be used alongside the sold-separately Recipe for Reading Manual, this Workbook K is intended to be used with children who need additional phonemic awareness support before proceeding further into the Recipe for Reading series.
25 lessons provide a child-friendly introduction to the initial consonants and short vowels through auditory, visual, kinesthetic activities. Engaging mnemonics help students understand and remember letter-sound relationships and letter shapes before practicing blending sounds to make words. There are five or six pages of activities for each lesson are provided. Consonants k, d, g, m, l, h, t, j, k, p, b ,r, f, n, s, w, y, v, z, qu and short vowels.

Recipe for Reading from EPS is a research-based, multisensory, phonics-based reading curriculum that features intervention strategies for struggling readers in grades K-6 or beginning readers in grades K-3.
